Job summary: Day to day management of the club.Provide quality care within the framework of the club’s

policies and procedures, contribute to staff training and the on-going development of all aspects of the club

Line manager: Out of School Club Managing Director

Responsible for: Deputy Manager, Play Workers and Volunteers

Main duties include:

•To manage the delivery of a high, quality play setting within a safe, stimulating and caring environment.

•Work with the Out of School Club Director and all club staff to highlight the needs of self-evaluation and

implement any recommendations.

•Ensure and be responsible for the safety and care of the children including collecting them from school,

ensuring they are signed in/out, and a full hand over to their parents/carer is delivered.

•On-going and open communication with head teachers, school staff, parents/carers.

•Ensure snack is ordered in line with the food ordering policy and it is stored and provided to children meeting

the hygiene, health and safety standards are met in accordance with food hygiene guidelines.

•Ensure all staff records and qualifications are kept up to date.

•Be responsible for appraising staff on a regular basis.

•Logging and administering first aid when necessary.

•Consulting with children and involving them in additional activities other than those already planned.

•Providing support and supervision staff.

•Administration and record keeping, including financial records, ordering and purchasing.

•Encouraging parental, child and staff feedback in the club.

•Undertaking appropriate and relevant training as the business deems necessary.

•Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.

•Being aware of outstanding safeguarding practices and understanding the signs of abuse and clear

reporting strategies.

•Deal with daily enquiries from parents and school.

Person specification

Essential qualities:

•Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds

•Experience of administration

•Delivering equal opportunities in a play setting

•Awareness of needs of children and families

•Appropriate Level 3 or above qualification

•Current First Aid Certificate

•Appropriate Safeguarding and Prevent Certificate

•Food Hygiene Certificate

•Ability to provide and facilitate safe and creative play

•Good communication skills

•Ability to work as a team member as well as from your own initiative, using judgement and

common sense

•A good sense of humour

Desirable qualities:

•At least 2 year’s experience of working in a childcare setting

•Experience of working within a play-based setting

•Current driving licence

Job Type: Part Time 15 hours a week 3.00pm-6.00pm term time. Possible further hour available during holiday time (open 8.00am to 6.00pm).
